SM headline: Check out how a local business is changing Utah’s motorcycle scene for the better

AdrenalineMoto, a local motorcycle retail and repair shop, hosted its 5th annual spring meet on Sunday morning. The meet is meant as a symbol to the community that motorcyclists are more than just another group of enthusiasts.

“We would like the public to know about the meet and the people participating today,” said Jason Clark, the owner of AdrenalineMoto. “This isn’t a community of reckless people. Many of the people here today are doctors, lawyers, and policemen. When you see someone on a motorcycle take a second to realize it’s probably someone pretty important, not just scum of the earth.”

Joseph Tapia, the event coordinator for the Utah Sport Bike Association has similar feelings about Utah’s motorcycle community.

“The ultimate goal of this meet is to bring the motorcycle community together,” Tapia said. “Motorcyclists' demographics are very broad and the community itself is full of a huge diverse group of people. I know a lot of military, lawyers, and other regular people that ride.”

This meet had more than 350 motorcycles and hundreds of spectators. This made it the largest season-opening meet AdrenalineMoto has ever had.

“Our first meet we only had six bikes,” Clark said. “And four of those bikes were owned by employees. It is cool to see what it had grown into.”

Laurie Jensen, a local motorcyclist from Murray, said why the meet was important to her.

“This event keeps getting bigger,” Jensen said. “This is one of the few meets that has a cruise after the meet. There aren’t very many that do that.”
